GranTurismo MC
The refined design of the Maserati GranTurismo MC represents the ideal synthesis of aerodynamics and style. The marque’s distinctive radiator grill, prominently positioned between two distinctive headlamps, is topped by the long, carbon fiber engine hood with its aggressive central air intake and two side air vents, derived from those used on the race-track prepared GranTurismo MC Trofeo.
Exterior
The dynamic look of the exterior is enhanced by the 20-inch Trofeo Design wheels, a signature of the Maserati GranTurismo MC. As well as being lighter in weight than other wheels, they highlight the Maserati tradition with a spoke design that references the Maserati Trident. A stylish finishing touch is provided by the triple-layer Grigio Lava (Pearl Grey) paintwork, an iridescent shade that changes with the light.
The large opening in the engine hood is a functional feature that enhances the car’s aerodynamics, adding character to the front of the car. The elegant bodywork is expressed by sinuous lines that direct the air through the front spoiler, through the slots in the front fenders, along the contoured sideskirts and all the way to the rear extractor, creating downforce and leaving an indelible impression on those who glimpse its form.
Performance
The unmistakable roar from the exhaust comes from the famed 4.7-liter Maserati V8 engine, delivering a maximum power of 454 HP at 7,000 rpm. The torque, increased to 384 lb-ft at 4,750 rpm, makes this engine’s thrust and elasticity felt at once, while its throaty baritone is underlined by the opening of the bypass valves in Sport mode.
The six-speed automatic gearbox of the Maserati GranTurismo MC features auto-adaptive software that automatically responds to driving style and road conditions, adapting the gearshifting mode accordingly. It uses MC Auto Shift technology, which operates in a variety of ways depending on performance parameters.
The suspension settings of the GranTurismo MC are 10 mm lower and they have been conceived and developed with the aid of racetrack technology. The springs and dampers have been stiffened to restrict lateral load transfers, while the stabilizer bar diameter has been increased from 24 to 25 mm at the front and from 21 to 23 mm at the rear to reduce the roll angle and gradient and to optimize handling.
Interior
While its history reflect all the characteristics of a fast, powerful, lightweight car bred for competition, the Maserati GranTurismo MC features a luxurious four-seat interior that delivers the same levels of comfort and spaciousness as the other models in the GranTurismo range.
The racing-style seats with integral headrests are designed to offer the best driving position and a high level of lateral restraint, together with unbeatable comfort. Soft Italian Premium leather is combined with a central section in a special Alcantara® upholstery, inspired by the functional design of race car interiors. Fine stitching around the edges of the backrest highlights the exquisite craftsmanship of the seats.
